Himouto! Umaru-chan ( 干物妹!うまるちゃん , Himōto! Umaru-chan ) [a] is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated past Sankaku Head. It began serialization in Shueisha's seinen manga magazine Weekly Young Leap on March 14, 2013. Information technology has been collected in twelve tankōbon volumes. An alternative version was serialized for two chapters in Shueisha'due south monthly mag Miracle Jump in 2012. An anime television series adaptation aired in 2015. A 2nd flavour titled Himouto! Umaru-chan R aired from October to December 2017, while a sequel series titled Himouto! Umaru-chan G was released in November 2017.

Plot [edit]

Umaru Doma is a loftier school girl who lives with her older brother Taihei. At school, Umaru appears to be the ideal pupil with expert looks, top grades and many talents. However, she transforms into a kid-sized layabout and spends fourth dimension at home feeding her video game and food addiction, much to Taihei's dismay. Throughout the series, Umaru uses her alternative personality to brand friends with others, while at home she throws tantrums about Taihei not ownership her things.

A loftier school girl with beautiful looks, tiptop grades and excellence in everything. She reverts to a clandestine lifestyle at home,[seven] Ch. 2 where she wears a hamster hoodieCh. 4 and is really a dice-hard otaku.[8] While indoors, she is drawn in a chibi mode,Ch. 1 afterward calling herself Komaru (Umaru's sister) when Kirie catches her in the persona.Ch. nineteen She lives with her brother Taihei. Umaru'southward buxom classmate living in the basis-floor flat near the siblings. She is very shy,[eight] Ch. 2, viii and is originally from Akita Prefecture, occasionally reverting to dialect when she is nervous. Considering of her breasts, she has a lack of confidence equally people wait at her. The first person to await her in the optics is Taihei, whom she later has a vanquish onCh. 13 and gets flustered whenever he gives her compliments.Ch. 32 Nana's brother works at a eating place in Tokyo. The manga showtime appeared in Shueisha's monthly magazine Miracle Jump in 2012 for two chapters: showtime in the 10th issue on Baronial xvi and over again in the 11th result on October sixteen.[15] [16] It was serialized in Weekly Young Jump [five] from March 14, 2013.[17] A full of Twelve tankōbon volumes were published. A spin-off focused on Nana Ebina, titled "Akita Imokko! Ebina-chan" ( 秋田妹!えびなちゃん , lit. Akita Native Little Sister Ebina ) that is currently running on Niconico Seiga website and other platforms afterwards ranked first on the website's popularity poll.[12] Vii Seas Entertainment released the manga in English.[eighteen] The manga ended serialization on November 9, 2017.[xix] A sequel manga titled Himōto! Anime [edit]

An anime television serial adaptation is produced by Doga Kobo.[8] The serial was directed by Masahiko Ohta and written past Takashi Aoshima, with character design past Aya Takano and sound direction past Yasunori Ebina.[viii] [45] It was broadcast on the Asahi Broadcasting Corporation in Japan from July 9 to September 24, 2015,[46] [47] and was simulcast worldwide by Crunchyroll.[48] The opening theme is "Kakushin-teki Metamarufōze!" ( かくしん的☆めたまるふぉ〜ぜっ! , lit. Core Basis: Metamorphosis! ) performed by Aimi Tanaka, while the ending theme is "Hidamari Days" ( ひだまりデイズ , Sunshine Days ) performed by Tanaka, Akari Kageyama, Haruka Shiraishi and Yurina Furukawa. The serial is licensed in North America by Sentai Filmworks.[iv] An original video blitheness was bundled with the manga's seventh book on October 19, 2015, with another to be bundled with the tenth volume of the manga in Q2 2017.[49] In the Weekly Young Jump magazine'southward 20th issue of 2017, a second season of the anime serial titled Himouto! Umaru-chan R was announced for fall 2017 with the same bandage.[50] The opening theme is "Nimensei Ura Omote Life!" (にめんせい☆ウラオモテライフ!) performed by Tanaka. The ending theme is "Umarun Taisou" (うまるん体操) performed past Sisters (妹S), the voice actresses of the 4 main girls. The second season was simulcast on Anime Strike in the United States,[51] on Hidive outside of the Us,[52] and on AnimeLab in Australia and New Zealand.[53] Sentai Filmworks has announced on September 27, 2017 that they have licensed Himouto! Umaru-chan R. [54] In the Great britain, MVM Films announced they had licensed Himouto! Umaru-chan R.[55] In the Philippines, Umaru-chan was broadcast in Tagalog on the Hero and Yey! pay TV channels.[56] [57]

Video game [edit]

A PlayStation Vita sister-raising simulation game developed by FuRyu, titled Himōto! Umaru-chan: Himōto! Ikusei Keikaku ( 干物妹!うまるちゃん ~干物妹!育成計画~ , lit. "Himōto! Umaru-chan: Himōto! Training Plan"), was released on December 3, 2015.[58]
